The Asian federation of Orthopaedics and Trauma is conducting its Inaugral
meeting in Chrennai from 13th of Feb to 15th of Feb 1999. Progress in the field of
Orthopaedic Surgery and Trauma have been Tremendous in the past decade. With
treatment philosophies aiming at early ambulation, lesser hospitalisation and near
normal function, the role of rehabilitation medicine and physical therapy in ensuring
such an outcome have become all more important.
As a part of the congress "a session on Rehabilitation of the injured Athlete" has
been organised with a view to provide a global perspective to the developments in this
field from the experience of international authors,to the Indian physiatrists and Physiotherapists
