RESULTS:
Based on the tests the following conclusions were arrived a) Exercise has an effect on reducing the state anxiety levels, the greatest difference seen when Non - exercisers are compared with exercise starters and significant differences are noted when exercise starters are compared with exercisers 6 months duration and exercisers one year duration. b) Exercise has an effect on reducing the trait anxiety levels, the greatest difference seen when Non - exercisers are compared with exercise starters and significant differences are noted when exercise starters are compared with exercisers 6 months c) Exercise improves Self - Esteem,the greatest difference seen when Non -exercisers are compared with exercise starters and with exercisers 6 months duration and exercisers one year duration. d) Exercise has an effect on reducing the Depression levels, the greatest difference seen when Non - exercisers are compared with exercise starters and significant differences are noted when exercise starters are compared with exercisers 6 months duration and exercisers one year duration. e) Exercise improves Home adjustment, greatest difference seen when Non-exercisers are compared with exercise starters and with exercisers 6 months duration f) Exercise improves social adjustments, improvment is seen when non exercisers are compared with exercisers- starters. g) Exercise improves Health and Home adjustments the improvment is seen when non exercisers are compared with exercisers- starters. h) Exercise improves college adjustments, the improvment is seen when non exercisers are compared with exercisers- starters. i) Exercise has an effect on improving total adjustment in life areas,the greatest difference seen when Non - exercisers are compared with exercise starters and significant differences are noted when exercise starters are compared with exercisers 6 months duration and exercisers one year duration. j) Though many people agree that exercise is health promoting, still a significant number do not exercise. Lack of time was the main reason why they did exercise. k) Although many people started their exercise program due to problem of obesity, many feel they exercise because they enjoy it. l) Time is the most important factor when it comes to exercising, as compared to place and reason. m) Many people start exercising when in a friends company.
